25 Mar, 8pm: Online talk. PAN: GOD OF THE ENGLISH COUNTRYSIDE
Online talk presented by Dr Paul Robichaud, followed by a Q&A with the audience.
How did Pan, the shepherd god of ancient Arcadia, become at home in rural England? This talk will explore the rise of Pan as a god of the English countryside from the nineteenth through the twenty-first centuries, showing how a foreign god paradoxically became a symbol of wild England.
A zoom link will be sent prior to the talk to the email address provided when booking. Video replay will be available after the event for all ticket holders to watch back.
